While its pharaonic ruins are not so spectacular compared to those in the Nile Valley, the remoteness and rugged beauty of Serabit El Khadim make it a very worthwhile trip when you're in Sinai. This 4WD trek will take you on great experience to Wadi Mukattab 'Valley of Inscriptions' with its remarkable Byzantine graffiti, and the only Pharaonic site in Sinai 'Serabit el-Khadim' where turquoise was mined and a natural rock-formation known as Gebel Fuga or the 'Forest of Pillars'.

Day 1: • Pick up in the morning from St. Catherine, Dahab, Nuweiba or Sharm El Sheikh. • Meet up with the 4WD at 'Wadi Shoqyraa', 40 KM from St. Catherine. • Drive on/off-road via the valleys of 'Wadi El Akhdar' (the green) and 'Wadi el-Ramla' (the sand). • Visit the holy tomb of 'Sheikh Hebus' and the 'Forest of Pillars'. • Arrive at 'Serabit El Khadim' village and camp at 'Barakat Bedouin House' for overnight.

Day 2: • Start early hiking to Mount Serabit El Khadim (755m). • Visit the ancient Egyptian temple of the Goddess Hathor. • Breakfast at the camp and drive back to 'Wadi Mukattab' and 'Wadi Fieran'. • Transfer back to your starting point. End of the tour.

• Wear good shoes. Sun protection, hat and sun glasses are useful in the heavy sunlight
• Take a bottle of water with you for the walk
• This tour supposes a physical effort. A little climbing through the canyon is involved
• For those who don't like to do the hiking part, they can spend time at 'Ain Hudra' oasis
• Lunch is freshly prepared and cooked on the open fire. Vegetarian option on request
