Day 1: Start Cairo
Your Holy Family Egypt Tour begins by meeting up with our representative at Cairo International Airport. After that, you will be guided and transported to your hotel via private air-conditioned vehicle. As you rest from your travel, you will be ready to enjoy the different places Jesus and His family visited in Egypt.
Day 2: Communities of Samanoud and Sakha
Start your tour with a hefty breakfast at your hotel, then proceed to Samanoud and Sakha, two prominent Christian communities in Christ’s time. From the Damietta branch of the Nile, you will visit a church in Samanoud that commemorates the place where the Holy Family rested. Also, in your Holy Family Egypt tour, you will visit the community of Sakha, where the Holy Family was believed to have visited while in Egypt. This was a bustling community in the Middle Ages. After this part of your Holy Family Egypt journey you will head back to Cairo to spend the night.
Day 3: Blessed Desert of Wadi Natroun
You will visit the desert of Wadi Natroun. It is said that Christ blessed this place. Today, there are still three monasteries. After your trip, you will be taken back to Cairo to spend the night.
Day 4: Cairo Churches
First, you will visit the holy well and sacred tree at Matariya. Found in the outskirts of Cairo, this place is believed to be the resting place of the Holy Family. As a result, it has become a popular destination for medieval pilgrims. Next, you will see the Church of St. George and the Fortress of Babylon in Old Cairo. This is where the Holy Family passed by. Also, you can visit the ancient churches: the Hanging Church and St. Sergius. After your trip, you will spend the night in Cairo.

In the next part of your Christ’s family Egypt Tour, you will see the Church of the Holy Virgin. This can be viewed on the banks of the Nile at Maadi, to the south of Cairo. This is where Jesus and His Virgin Mother boarded a sailing boat for Deir Al-Garnousin, Upper Egypt.
To relive this journey, you will be taken by an air-conditioned vehicle to this village. It is near the town of Maghagha—the place where the Monastery of Arganos was later founded. Outside the Church of Virgin in this place, there is a well that provided the Holy Family enough water for their needs. You can also see the beautiful church hewn out o the cliff near the river Gabal Al-Teir in Minya. To commemorate the Holy Family’s stay in this place, you will spend the night in Minya.
